BioFil โ€“ PCL is a medical grade PCL filament. It is perfect for orthopedic, orthotic, and biomedical applications. Users can reshape 3D printed parts in warm water at 55ยฐC temperature. This optimizes the fitting process for 3D printed orthoses with a patient’s body. Achieving a perfect fit in minutes. BioFil – PCL has an excellent adhesion to textiles. This opens new possibilities in orthopedics. Thinks about combining 3D printed orthopedic parts with textiles. Bonding textiles with insoles, midsoles, or other brace or shoe parts. BioFil – PCL is one of the most sustainable filaments on the market. This filament biodegrades completely in soil, water, and via home composting. It doesn’t leave any toxic residue or microplastics.

Print temp:ย ยฑ 95 – 130ยฐ C Fan speed:ย 10 – 50% Heat bed:ย ยฑ 40 – 50ยฐ C

*) Above displayed settings are meant as guidance to find your optimal print settings. These ranges in settings should work for most printers, but please do feel free to experiment outside these parameters if you think it is suitable for your printer. There are a lot of different type of printers, hot-ends and printer offset that it is extremely difficult to give an overall one-size-fits-all setting.

Abrasiveness

Please be aware that this 3D printing filament contains a relatively high concentration of extremely hard carbon fibers, which have an abrasive nature. In general these carbon fibers will accelerate the nozzle-wear of brass nozzles, much faster than unfilled filaments. We recommend to use nozzles from stainless steel or other hardened alloys.
